As part of the Hawick summer festival, Friends of Hawick Library have organised a special writers' workshop on Tuesday 18 August with one of Britain's top crime novelists.

The celebrated crime writer Alanna Knight, who writes about Victorian crime in Edinburgh, will be attending the workshop to talk about her work as a writer and to answer questions from budding authors.

The event will be held in Hawick Library, North Bridge Street, Hawick at 7.15pm on Tuesday 18 August.

Admission is free but places are limited. To book your place please contact Hawick Library on 01450 372637.
